Oil test results on 240,000 mile engine
1 Attachment(s)
Got my sample back today, here it is!!!!!
The highlights... "CHRIS: Mostly this is a good first sample from your 370Z. Considering it has nearly 400,000 km under its belt, it makes a relatively small amount of metal. The balance of the metals is good, so we're seeing no problems there (averages are based on a 8,300-km oil change). The only thing out of line in the spectral exam is silicon, so check the air filtration system in case silicon is from dirt. lt could also be a harmless sealer. The viscosity is mildly thick; that could be from heat on the oil, or maybe an additive was used that thickened it up. lnsolubles look good. Overall, nice enqine!" |
that is awesome haha

What great news CT !!
We see that Molybenum (571) PPM is a little above universal average but this is a great Report !! Thank you CT Worth noting......... Molybdenum is a valuable alloying agent, as it contributes to the harden-ability and toughness of quenched and tempered steels. It also improves the strength of steel at high temperatures. Molybdenum is used in alloys, electrodes and catalysts. Bring on those KM !! :icon18: |
Gotta love a PGM-FI non-DI NA engine
