Default Tell me how you ran wires for your gauges.

In my totaled 370z, I ran my stereo amp power cable along side the main harness by slipping it through the boot by the battery. This creates an imperfect seal with the wiring and i worry that moisture might seep through.. though this seemed to be the standard way most folks are running their power cables.

Now that I am FI and need gauges, where do you all run your gauge wires? I will eventually add a power cable for a stereo amp as well.

If I run through the same boot - is there any concern about interference from the amp power cable with the signal cables run alongside (not just for new gauges, but the factory signal wires running to the ECU as well)?

My Gamma tech support guy says, for gauges, he actually disconnects the ECU and pulls the main harness out, unwraps it, integrates the new wires into the bundle, then rewraps it and pulls it back to the ECU. This would be a pretty factory looking installation. If I did this and included a fat power wire (for an amp down the line), I could still make the whole bundle pretty round and get a good seal with the factory boot.

What do you guys do for your wiring?

Bump - maybe this thread would get more attention in the FI forum?
