Clunk Sound When Release Clutch
When I release my clutch pedal and just prior to coming all the way back, there is a clunking sound. It occurs whether I am shifting gears underway or at a stop, in neutral, and depressing then releasing the clutch pedal. The transmission shifts fine and there is no slipping of the clutch. The clunk sounds high and perhaps under the hood rather than inside the car. I have a 2012 370Z Touring. Any ideas as to what's causing this?

Is this something new or has the car always done it? The Z's clutch/transmission is very noisy. Mine has made all kinds of weird noises. It's 5 years old now and still going strong and is still noisy as hell.

Are you side stepping the clutch or something??
Does it happen when shifting in lower gears only? |
checked the clutch fluid resevoir?its by the brake fluid resevoir.

Had the same thing happening to mine right before I traded it in. It could be a few things. The first thing I'd check is the fluids. The Z's transmission is noisy as f!, but it was noticeably worst. Mine started to "clunk!" when I'd let off the throttle. It was almost like the clutch wasn't engaging, then suddenly engaging. I also found the clutch would sometimes not come up as quickly as it should. This leads me to believe that the it was likely the notorious clutch slave cylinder issue. If your Z is still under warranty, I'd bring it in ASAP! It's an inexpensive part, but a really expensive repair on it's own. Chances are, the part will fail soon.
