hypothetical engine swap question

I feel your pain brother. My first wife past away from cancer in 2011. That took the wind out of my sails for awhile. Had a complete G2 528 ci.

Had a complete G2 528 ci. Hemi with Stage 5 heads, that was in pieces, and 2 sets of Pontiac Ram Air 5 heads and a 455SD motor get washed away in a flood in 1985. The flood took everything. Even the foundation of the garage, and left 2ft of mud in it's place.

Default That is awful

Sorry to hear it Rusty. I hope no one else experiences this. I lost my kids and house when my X ran off with someone else. Her family had money and a good lawyer. I was broke. I was a new teacher making $21K a year and paying $900 a month for child support. Lost a lot of weight those days. Everyone at work asked if I like the freeze dried soup I hate for lunch. I said no. They asked why eat it? I said, because it's 18 cents a cup. They asked why I was driving an almost 30 year old car. I gave up trying to explain.

In 2012, my ex decided she wanted more money. The problem was, we had a divorce agreement that stated when the girls turned 18, I was done. The oldest was 22 and the youngest 20. Nevertheless, she filed from Texas here in Mudzouri saying I was a deadbeat dad. Missouri's department of family services said if I did not cough up the money, about $20K, they were going to suspend my teacher's license, drivers license, seize my passport and garnished my wages.
I sent all the appropriate documents and they garnished my wages at $1250.00 a month. I demanded a hearing. I got one months and months later, and had to hire an attorney. During the hearing, my Ex confessed she knew the cut off was at age 18. I won. Mudzouri gave me back the income tax refund from the feds they had seized but not the child support they had wrongly taken.
The X filed again and the garnishment started again. I had another hearing, won again, and they gave me back the next years's federal income tax refund they had seized and two paychecks. Then I went to court to get this in stone.
I had to pay $6700.00 to my attorney which meant selling off a big chunk of my gun collection, pay $15K for one child's college, and $3700.00 in health insurance to the X for the kids even though they were and are still on my plan!
To top it off, Mudzouri Department of family services won't return the $7400.00 in child support they stole from me, that they and the X admitted I did not owe. I have been trying for 2 years to get that money back.
Sorry to vent. I am going to Texas this weekend. My dad is dying and this will probably be it.

Default Thanks everyone

I am no sob sister, simply someone who, like others, got hit with a lot to handle. I was forced to retire this year as well. I have never been politically correct and my department, the socialist studies department has been after me for years. After taking away all the "good" classes and giving me the worst kind of kids and courses, they set up a new scenario of evaluations guaranteed to force me out. Even though I had great evaluations for 23 years, the pc police never let up and so I am forced out and into early retirement this year. One day at a time is how I handle this.
You all have a Merry Christmas. We'll talk later

Damn it got depressing in here. Rusty sorry to hear about your wife. I couldn't imagine.

Inspector, sorry to hear about life. You have had a terrible stack of odds against you.

Back on topic to get us out of the dumps.... who's going to be the first to swap the new Infiniti motor in Sure it will be expensive, but I'm sure it will fit better than the vk series engines.

Well it is only 50 lbs heavier its really not that bad most turbo kits add more weight than the vk. the one thats going in my 260z is down to around 420lbs assembled. its definitely more cost wise than the ls. the toyota lexus v8s are much heavier also. the vk56 actually weighs less than the vk45. also remember the vq37 is about 40-50lbs heavier than the vq35hr.

edit: the 420lbs on my motor includes the vortech supercharger and brackets

(i get the weight for the 1uz at 480lbs full dress)

for comparison 40-50lbs in turbos/manifolds, 15lbs of intercooler 10 lbs in pipes and another 10-20lbs in misc shiz the average tt kit will add 90-100lbs of weight to your z, all in the front.
