Alkylated Naphthalenes vs Esters in Oil

Well, I haven't had time to post for a while but saw in another thread that the Ester oil debate is still going strong... While from past posts, its clear that Mobil 1 moved away from Esters in its current SuperSyn formulation, I've found (various online sources) that they have replaced it with something called Alkylated Naphthalenes. Not knowing anything about it, I found a technical research paper about it where it also states that it works well as compared to having Esters (some parts are hard to understand, I'm not a chemical engineer).

See the article here: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...g=content;col1

Anyone know of this? It would be nice to have the protection of the Esters that Nissan recommends at the Mobil 1 price.
