Nonetheless Yes, it is perfectly normally for the rpms to hang their till the engine warms up. The amount of waiting will depend on the weather. Last edited by Trips; 11-19-2015 at 04:01 PM. |

That is the only thing to change and it is entirely normal. Either wait for 30 seconds or ride the brake for the first 30 seconds. If you are really aggrieved, don't blame Nissan but the numpties who force cold start/slow idle-down to avoid excessive emissions on cold-start. |

At a cold start up your car will automatically give a little more gas and will slowly idle down. That is completely normal.
BTW, cars don't like to be beat at a cold start. That goes for any make/model. On hot days you can get away with driving easy at low rpm until you are up to running temp. On cold days, give your car a couple minutes to warm up a little and then ease into it until your are at running temp. A remote start helps the process. |

The main reason cars do this is to heat up the catalytic converters so they start operating efficiently faster. It's an emissions thing as others have said.

Think your butt plug needs to be pushed in a little farther.

Okay Z team, leave him alone. He just didn't know. I just found out that my shift lever has to be in first gear in order to rev my engine above 5k...Who figured that one out?
