I'm at 123,000 miles on the original csc and it feels fair so far. No need to change it yet, but when I have the the money I will.

Mine went out twice lol... took it to Nissan, didn't even make it out of the dealership before the new one went out again.

My 2009 has 38K miles, 2 seasons of SCCA autocross and 10 track days. Original CSC. But my 5th gear synchros just started crunching a couple weeks ago at VIR. Bah.

The top four causes of seal failure in hydraulic cylinders

It's the seal that leaks, there are many things that can cause seal failure. So the only ones we can affect, can't prevent improper assembly, are the following.

Hydraulic system contamination. Inspect your fluid often, does it look black or discolored? Then you should probably have it changed.

Heat degradation. Making sure your clutch fluid line isn't too close to an aftermarket cat or test pipe. Unfortunately the CSC itself is fixed right in a very hot area.

When I had my BMW they insisted on having the clutch and brake fluid changed every two years. Never had a problem with that car's clutch, ( even though much of the rest of the car fell apart) , so I'm changing mine in the Z every two years as well. So far so good.

I've got a 2010, and I replaced my CSC at 7000 miles just be on the safe side. I went with the Zspeed setup, along with a new CMC, stage 2 clutch and light flywheel..

Update- im at 10K miles now and Ive noticed ive been losing fluid in mine slowly. over 5k miles of mostly highway driving (ie not a lot of clutch use) I lost maybe an 1/8th inch of fluid, same as my first 5K. no sign of poor performance but the fluid is going....somewhre.
