clutch - manual trans problem
Guys,
I am speachless. 2 months ago, I installed a Stillen SC. Since I mostly use my Z as a track car, the original clutch/pressure plate was not able to hold the extra torque. I upgraded with the Z1 Motorsport clutch and flyweel kit as well as the Z1 csc elimitator kit. Went back at the track and the trans was behaving badly. It was as if the clutch was never completly desengaging and shifting was tough and there would be abnormal resistance on each gear change. We tough it had to do with the Z1 eliminator kit. I ordered a Z speed CSC replacement, installed it and shifting still shows abnormal resistance (as if every synchro were defective). Now I suspect the clutch/pressure plate kit. Any ideas ???? |
master cylinder.
change it, cheap as F |

Did you break in the clutch properly? I would bleed the clutch one more time.

Assuming everything works properly, it seems that the csc piston adjustment was/is wrong.

Ehh, on the z1 csc elimination kit, the rod thats comming to pull the lever of the bearing that presses the clutch plate, if it isnt adjusted properly it will not pull enoughf to release the clutch, i hope am making sence here, or you might have a bubble in the system or clutch pedal isnt adjusted properly to push the cmc all the way in. Basicaly the travel isnt enoughf to clutch, isnt thats ur problem? PS u gotta to test be4 u race. Now it seems ur syncronos r done, try putting radline oil in ur tranny did me hella good with shifting. It could be just cheapo oil in it, this transmission hates bad viscosity. |
