S-Mode button importance
Hello,
I put my 370z 2009 on a DYNO today and I am quite disappointed what it showed up, as per tech. specs. power on engine is 243kW, but the diagram showed that I have only 224kW on engine and 193kW on wheels!? The guy asked is the s-mode button changes anything in engine, because when he is taking measurements he can't go at full power/torque as at one moment S-Mode switches off and on the dash panel blinking ABS light, it's because front wheels is not running at all as they are on the ground? Does anyone has ever something like that? Or there is something wrong with my Engine or anything else? As per information over the forums I found that these cars should have on stock on wheels around 290-305 hp while I have only 258 hp on wheels... |
My stock 370 dynoed at 266whp on Mustang Dyno. Other Dyno might show slightly higher, but your results aren't too far

260-280 is the range majority of people get without any mods. intakes, exhaust, tune people will run on average 300-320. then there are a lot of different factors as to why it may be higher or lower. |
Okay so far 332 is not on Engine but on Crank? Looks like I missed that out somehow, looks like then is nothing to worry about, but then acceleration from 0-60 in 4.6 sec. per specs also is just with naked Crank on four wheels!?

By the way I have installed Stillen GEN3 intake and Stillen exhaust and there isn't any HP gain as per DYNO tests, or I need to buy Haltech and then reprogram to get out any additional HP from these stillen mods?

Sport mode just blips the throttle for you on down shifts. I don't think it changes anything in the ecu in regards to hp. Did you have these modifications on when you wrote your first post or were you stock? If you had them on than I think that dyno needs to be recalibrated. You should be reading higher with those mods.

Yes I made tests with those mods installed. Looks like need to try on another/different dyno

check the intake filters are in good condition/unclogged, did your MAF get damaged during installation? still weird... test it out on another dyno and report back. oh.. are you using regular fuel? :shakes head: |

if you really want to figure out your 0-60 times, from a complete stop, FLOOR THAT BIATCH, and time. |
also, the only thing that the S-button does is turn on/off the synchro rev-match. it doesn't magically add more power to your car, though it may yield to better times on the track if you don't know how to downshift properly.

Mine did 275/243 in 5th(1:1 ratio)with an A/7 trans.
this was on a Dyno-Jet...only mod is drop in k&N's (hardly noticed any gains) readings would have been a bit higher;if speed limiter didn't kick in @close to 7k. Did you have a Dyno Tune after the install of parts? Idk anything about a mail in tune-except that i heard that it was intended to get to a nearby Tune shop without damaging anything. You shoud be near 300whp (+ or -) just a bit/with those upgrades. |

Intake filters was installed one week ago, they are new and clean, and MAF isn't damaged. Yes will check for another DYNO, so far it won't be so easy as need to go neighborhood country but anyway will do as I am planning to replace Headers, camshafts, clutch and then reprogram with Haltech. Will do. No I am using 98 Octane. |
