Be really interested in which valve spring compressor tool you plan to use, and how well it ends up working.

Also not saying its going to happen but if you dont remove the upper pan when you go to put the oil pump back on you stand a good chance of cutting the oring while putting it back in also the front cover is a bitch to rtv and reinstall with the upper pan in place silicone everywhere it shouldnt be and not enough where it should be. This leads to oil leaks at the front of the pan.

Tuner - engine builder - retailer are not the same things - lol
I would have expected guidance from the vendor on the best tool for this job. Looks like you made something work, share another pic? Last edited by SG4247; 06-08-2019 at 06:39 PM. |

Lol ok !
I know they lie, on several occasions. And this post on valve spring compressors! Here is the tool that appears to be recommended by the cam designer/engine builder. http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/cus...asp?PartID=485 Last edited by SG4247; 06-08-2019 at 07:36 PM. |

Regardless we came up with something that works easily and that’s all I really care about. Forum sure has change since 09-10 when I owned my first Nismo, everyone on this forum was in it together, haters were the minority. A lot of the guys on here today should be driving V6 Mustangs and don’t deserve such a great car. Just don’t understand the negativity. |

Haters are gonna hate. I have made tools before also and I keep them around to use again. I understand why your father took the back of the front cover off. Unless you have a lift, it's not easy getting the 2nd oil pan off. Someone with a lift could of had the tranny out in 45min and the oil pan off in the same time. That front cover is no joke, but if you are on jackstands, I would have done the same. MA drops the whole motor and cradle out of the car to change the cams. Different strokes for different folks.
