Exhaust hanger install was not as straight forward as I’d hoped.

Install manual looks like this, but is very misleading. For the pipes to go on right you have to have the pipes on the opposite side from shown (ie the hanger attaches to the top pipe not the bottom one) if you swap the pipes to match the picture they won’t fit around the footbox

I opted to weld (not self tap screw) the hangers on after modding them to fit the rest of the hardware

I used bits of both the old and new hanger bracket kit to fiddle together a working setup.

The lower brackets (modded to fit the new rubber shock mounts)

The new (upgraded) rubber bushings

The old (longer) upper mounts which I cut and re-welded to a better (custom?) fit on my exhaust.

As usual I put it together incorrectly 3times before finding the right fit but in my defense the instructions were very misleading. Use my photos for a better idea of how it should go! (Assuming same exhaust and coyote manifold.)

Per Jon @ Z1, the cams were done and the car made 266/231 on a baseline run. Afterwards, it made 330/260. That's with Z1 intake, HFC, ported plenum, headers, and the FI catback, plus the C2 cams.

Also, I spoke briefly with Moncef at Admin Tuning about them and he seems less than pleased.

Was anything ever established with the Jun cams with any reasonable certainty as to gains? Their less aggressive cam is the same as the JWT C2 from what I've seen. I know those are what is/was in the world record car, but last I knew, the dyno was skewed due to other changes made at the same time as the cams.

Cams are not about max hp but more about power under the curve. Without the dyno graphs before and after it is really hard to say what the gains were on that engine. We can see what happened with the car from the thread. What I would want is a flat torque curve. In a boosted car, cams are useful to help spoolup the turbo's. So, you can go with a larger turbo and exhaust housing and still have the spoolup of a small turbo while keeping the upper RPM performance where a small turbo would fall off due to a restriction in the turbine and exhaust housing. We shall see how the C2's do on a turbo setup shortly.

Quite possible Moncef can’t tune cams.

Just had my car pro tuned with AAM Intakes, HFC and catback. I have the C2 cams, just havent had time to install them. Now as far as dyno info goes i have:

-Full Stock Baseline -----------------------267HP/210tq
-Bolt on mods Baseline (no tune) --------302HP/248tq
-Pro tune after mods ----------------------326HP/260tq
-JWT C2 cams -----------------------------Pending

So hopefully soon I can get everyone some useable numbers on these cams. The tuner i went to is top notch and the VQ platform is one of his favorites/specialties. So if he cant get any more power out of these cams, i dont know if anyone can. Im still confident they will produce results though.

Any idea as to when you may have this done? I think there are equal parts hype and uncertainty around these. The more the merrier in terms of feedback.

I wasnt planning on doing them until the winter just because i dont have that much time, but seeing now the lack of data on these things im motivated to do them ASAP. I just dont know if i would be able to get a retune done soon enough. Ill e-mail him today and see whats he says.

That would be great if at all possible. I'm sure several people on here would appreciate 1 more third party test.

Actually, a list of any/all performance mods would be best, if you wouldn't mind.

Nothing fancy
-AAM long tubes intakes (inserts removed)
-AAM High flow cats
-AAM 2.5" catback exhaust
-ACT lightweight steel flywheel (stock original clutch, 100,000KM)
-Heavier weight Motul trans and diff oil
-Running pump gas, 94oct (dont really need 94 but it what i use)
-Z1 finned diff cover

Tuned and baselined on a DynaPack dyno by DMT just outside Toronto
Home

Still getting 750km/tank highway even after the tune

Yah, i dont really have much faith in the aftermarket headers though, the HP to $$$ ratio doesnt make much sense. I do plan on getting a cylinder head port, larger valves one day, and once that happens i doubt ill put the OEM headers back on. Unless im really broke!!!
