Any idea when you'll have her on the dyno for a tune? Were the pistons expensive? I wonder how much of a difference the higher compression makes.

It's on the dyno now for break-in, so I'll have numbers soon, probably next week. Starting from my previous EcuTek tune, we had to adjust the throttle table down a bit because it was too twitchy with all the extra torque. |
I'm assuming you have the stage 1 cams How does the engine sound? Is there that 'lobe lobe lobe' noise some cars with cams have? a video with audio when it's all done would be great if possible.

'lobe lobe lobe'
I've heard lumpy idles called many things, but never that! |
i didn't really know how to describe it, but someone else called it that and it stuck, haha. We were commenting on the idle sound from 1slowz's super NA build that had jun cams, a dry sump, custom manifold and other stuff.

The term is "cam lope" used by old-school engine builders to describe the characteristic variation in sound of an idling engine with big lift and significant overlap cam timing.
Mr Google .......... Cam “lope” is caused by the overlap when the exhaust valve is opening and the intake valve is closing. The more of an overlap, the longer and lower the sound of the “lope” will be. This is usually a result of a longer exhaust duration. |

so how do the final drive gears skew dyno numbers? I have 4.08s

I believe my runs were done in 5th because of the gears. Are cars usually run in 4th?
|
Runs are usually in the gear that is closest to 1:1.
|
5th is 1:1 with the 3.69 Final drive (stock 6MT)
|
I thought 4th is 1:1 (3.69)5th would read higher mumbers.
