there is no way to upgrade a stock viscous - it is what it is

gear mesh and shimming have nothing to do with how the lsd works

I would think improper gear mesh would have horrible effects on your drivetrain in general with increased friction and wear. I understand that gear mesh has nothing to do with diff action, but was curious if anyone has modified the viscous coupling in the stock diff. Apparently this diff is used in several models and has been around for a long time....

Anyway, I'm thinking I'll upgrade to OS Giken or the Cusco RS. Any comments on either of these diffs? I'm looking for a well mannered diff that doesn't require special fluid or maintenance every other weekend.
