Parts List input and help appreciated
Well I'm currently on a government paid 6 month vacation, which leaves me lots of time to look around and plan for my Z when I get home. When I get home My 2014 NISMO it should have less then 2K miles on it. I doubt my wife will drive it that much while I'm away.
So far I'm thinking of the following Stillen CAI Gen 3 FI exhaust Hi Flow Cats or FI LTH Motordyne intake Oil Cooler- Still torn on Stillen 24 row or FI 34 row Oil Pan spacer A tune Tommy Kaira Shift knob-just because I feel it's like holman/moody parts when I used to build hot rods. The car isn't complete with out some thing from that shop. My questions are, is money better spent on cats, or LTH if I can get away with them in my state, still have to check the laws? If I get the motordyne intake is it worth still having the Z1 performance mod performed? Which oil cooler is a better option the Stillen or the FI? Car will probably never be raced just want the added protection for piece of mind. Last one is has any one had success selling their NISMO exhaust and whats a reasonable price to expect? Thanks for all your input in advance. I've dreamed of owning this car pretty much my whole life. Just want to have a game plan to start making it mine over the next couple years. I've built plenty of hot rods and muscle cars, restored several 240Z's, and 280Z's, but this will be my first tuner car and I'm pretty lost. Been reading through the threads and have learned a lot but thought putting my parts list together and getting help on the total package would be more helpful. |

Stillen CAI Gen 3
FI exhaust Hi Flow Cats or FI LTH Motordyne intake Oil Cooler- Still torn on Stillen 24 row or FI 34 row Oil Pan spacer A tune Tommy Kaira Shift knob-just because I feel it's like holman/moody parts when I used to build hot rods. The car isn't complete with out some thing from that shop. My questions are, is money better spent on cats, or LTH if I can get away with them in my state, still have to check the laws? I'd go with some motordyne art pipes personally If I get the motordyne intake is it worth still having the Z1 performance mod performed? z1 performance mod? Stillen gen gen 3 is the best bet intake wise otherwise stock airboxes and some k&n filters, OR z1 short tube Which oil cooler is a better option the Stillen or the FI? Car will probably never be raced just want the added protection for piece of mind, both will work for N/A 25 row stillen should be fine ! Better yet, z1's 25 row with setrab core Last one is has any one had success selling their NISMO exhaust and whats a reasonable price to expect? I haven't tried selling mines but I don't see why you couldnt get a couple hundred bucks for it

First ask yourself, are you going to stay na or go boost? Fast intentions i think make the best quality exhaust and customer service is hands down the best. As far as oil coolers i would say go with z1 24 row if you don't plan on tracking the car. I would hold off on a manifold, there are some people in the process of building an intake manifold for our cars. Intakes stillen g3's are the best on the market, but you can always go pos maf tubes and k&n filter to cut cost. Ecu tek is the way to go for tunes, finding a great tuner is the hard part. If your happy with 320-340 to the wheels which those mods should net roughly speaking, if not you could always call up ipp performance and look into purchasing a long block set up.

If I go FI it will be 10 years from now to be honest. I've got to at least pay the car off before I can convince my wife on a 15K build with no real purpose.

As far as I'm concerned, this engine can't have too much cooling. My oil temperature routinely hits 240 on the highway without a cooler. Just buy the biggest core you can, the 34-row Setrab core FI sells is a good bet.
