Resetting the stock ECU
How many of you or is it important to reset the stock ECU? My profomance mods are Intakes, CBE, and about to install my non-res test pipes.. I won't be able to get UpRev/tuning done for about a week or two. I don't drive my car all that often(50-100miles a week) but am wondering if I should reset the stock ECU after I install my test pipes? Will it run un-efficient if I drive my car in the duration that I don't have UpRev done?

It will make adjustments over time on it's own , but resetting the ECU just speeds up the process. Either way your not going to hurt or foul anything. You just won't get the full potential out of the mods until your tune.

Thanks you, that answer my question!

On a side note, as long as who ever it was did not use an impact wrench to remove your Cats before removing O2 sensors or install your TP's with the sensors installed you'll be OK. If so the O2 sensors are toast as they will not hold up to the vibration & will throw codes straight away & running in that condition will be another story. |
