Default JWT Clutch or those with aftermarket

Hey Guys,

So I received my car back from Z1 a couple months back. Just recently I've started driving it hard. A few years back I installed a JWT clutch and flywheel. I feel like it is the reason I am having all these issues. Most of the time when I get into the high RPM's over 7k the vehicle has trouble shifting. It feels like the gates are locking and not allowing me to move to the next gear. Does anybody have any insight on this? I am thinking of going back to a stock clutch and flywheel combo as I remember not having issues with that and being able to bang all the gears with out issue.

Did you happen to replace the csc and cmc at the time you did your clutch and flywheel cause if not that could cause some of your issues since the cmc is known to be a weak point with higher clamping force clutches

I have no issues with high rev shifting. I'm running the Z1 full face disc and light weight flywheel.

Since you didn't mention it, have you checked the clutch fluid level and color?
Color is only slightly and indicator because some clutch fluid brands can be darker than others. The kind I've used are usually closer to clear than anything.

I have a JWT clutch and track it quite a bit with no issues. when I put in the clutch I also put in a Zspeed CSC and a new master because I heard of so many failures. Since then 30,000 miles of no problems (about 5-10 track days a year... 30 total?)

I did however blow my tranny at the track (blew a hard shift into 3rd) so that I couldn't get into 3rd gear without a grind (synchro failure)

Nissan replaced it free under my power train warranty.

Change the tranny fluid, then go from there.

This,

Put in some Redline MT85 and see if that helps.

Also, what weight flywheel did you get?

Actually I haven't as it was a new transmission installed by Z1.

I replaced the csc a long time ago when I put in the new clutch but also with the new transmission I am running the z1 csc elimination kit.

I'll check it out this weekend, I went with the light weight flywheel that JWT included with their clutch.

this may be the wrong place to ask, but how light is too light? Im going to upgrade the csc and figured might as well do the rest of the clutch while im there but i dont want to ruin the drivability (i DD my Z).

Ah, it may be time to adjust the CSC since you have the Z1 external CSC.
