Throttle response, 2012+ low fuel tank
Hello everyone, I am well aware of the fuel pump being an issue with this car or this could be entirely in my head. Does anyone else feel like the throttle response is severely degraded when below a quarter tank or just below half? I feel like when I floor it with fuel at these levels its noticeably different than having a full fuel tank. Am I crazy or is this related to the poor fuel pump?

I think I feel that in my car as well. I don't think it's exclusive to 2012+.

no idea. i fill at half and u should too... i guess.

Are you sure it's not the summer heat dropping power a bit? This doesn't sound like fuel starvation as that seems to only happen when low on fuel and going WOT after taking a tight right hander.

TBH, I feel like I have more power in my 2012 with less fuel vs more than half a tank.
Could be the lack of weight |
yah, if the fuel pump was dat smart it wouldnt stave itself while turning right very hard for long duration.

flashing NO RIGHT TURN! icon..

I do not know, I never let my tank get less than 1/2 full.
If I ever have to make a run for it, I have a go-bag that I can toss in the Z and just split. I do not want to be worrying about getting gas too. |
BC416 is probably on the right track - the ECM cuts power when Intake Air Temperature (IAT sensor is in MAF) gets over ~90F. IAT can be quite a bit higher than ambient, especially when not moving.

How are things going up in NWA? |

An engine doesn't know the fuel tank level so as long as the fuel pump has suction the engine will perform the same at any fuel level.

Mine does the same thing when the whether gets hot
Extremely annoying.... |
