Odometer Cable

Talking to a guy at the gym today who has a Z and says his mileage doesn't move, but everything else on the tach works fine, no fuses blown. Is there a mileage cable for our cars that could've came loose?

There is no cable. The odometer gets it's readings from the wheel speed sensors via the ABS controller module.

Oh ok, so it could be a blown fuse in that then.

If his speedo works and his odometer doesnt something is really wrong.

Probably not. The speedo/tach is one unit with no user serviceable parts. As mentioned above, data for instrument/info clusters comes from ECM, BCM, TCM, &c, over the CAN bus, not directly from sensors. Details in FSM.
