Any idea what this squeaking is?
Sounds like its coming from power steering pump, but i did a flush of the power steering system already so not sure why it would be squeaking, also wiuld like to note that the squeaking goes away after the engine warms up a bit

how many miles on Z,,, i see you drive an 09',if you still have factory belt on it-it may be drying out.

The thought crossed my mind about the belt, but not sure if it's the original belt as i havent been able to get a good look at it yet, and to answer your other question im sitting at 130,000

remove the belt (while cold) and turn and feel each pulley,,also ck. for play...feel for rough or excessively loose bearings..listen closely.
also-you may want to use a factory Nissan Belt-as some other's may not go in grooves properly & still make noise.

Well i did go ahead and spray a little pb blaster lubricant on the power steering pulley, seems to have quieted it down, but i will see what happens after giving the engine a few hours to cool down, probably will be stopping by the nissan dealer to pick up a belt sometime this week

better call and see if they stock one; our dealership had to order one for me & also had to order my factory wiper blades.

If you are on the original belt at 130,000, then you're way overdue replacing it.
Here's the one that I bought. $30 cheaper than my dealer. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o03_s00 For those that don't want to read and are into making assumptions, this is a Nissan belt, not an aftermarket. Last edited by TreeSemdyZee; 06-28-2015 at 01:44 PM. |
