I have a similar issue with my lights coming on but not the traction light. Sometimes when I get on the gas hard my E- brake light will come on and cut off

You might want to edit your post so it reads less like you're street racing before the mods come in here and do it for you.

But we weren't, my buddy has a butt load of land and he has a 2 mile road within his land. So it wasn't a public road.

You probably broke a little traction? Those are pretty high speeds. Did it stay on or was it on then off?

Check your brake fluid -- probably needs a little. Fill to no higher than "full" line. Reinspect in a week. If doesn't go down, you're good. If it does, could be a leak. Most likely you're pads are getting worn down a bit, so the fluid level dropped.

could be tire size difference from stock. When I ran square on my corvette the traction light would come on at 84mph if I forgot to turn it off.

I was going to say the same thing... Tire size. When i went from oem tires to new set up (275 up front and 315's in the rear) my traction control light goes on and off periodically because the tires are obviously spinning at different rpms and when the size disparity reaches a certain level it throws off the car

Wink

I've tracked my Z with 275's in the front and 345's in the rear. My light only time it comes on, is when I'm exiting a corner, spinning the tires. I've had the Z over a 145 mph too. And no light.

My guess is that the guys suggesting tire size difference is the cause are on the right track.
Second guess is a wheel speed sensor that is slightly out of spec and/or alignment. Monitoring/logging the wheel speed inputs might give you some clues.

First thing I'd do is check out the traction control and related sections of the FSM to see what conditions will turn on the dash light.

"Really helpful" is an understatement.

I try to get the FSM for any car I own and work on. In many cases it can be expensive, but the 370Z FSM is available for free on most of the 370Z-rerlated sites (including this one; see link in my sig).

Some of the Chilton-type manuals can be useful to the Occasional Mechanic but won't have near the detail or explanations found in FSMs.

I still have the FSM, Factory Assembly Manuals, and parts catalog (great for cross-referencing part numbers) for a 1967 Mustang that I sold several years ago.

FWIW, most PDF readers will allow you to search all documents in a folder. I dumped all the 370Z FSM PDFs into a folder and used the Search All Docs In A Folder function when I wanted to search the whole thing.
