Supposed to be good for a while, but ive been reading allot of guys having less than the recommneded amount from the factory and having issues. I was gonna go with motul ATF... Nothing special about s matic fluid, its castrol made as thry provide for nissan. But i got the s matic really cheap so why not for now... Its dat VVEL doeee! Haha

Good video man! Its shifting very well, does it throw you in the next gearbor is it seemless accelaration? What is your rev light set at btw

jchammond 06-17-2015 09:31 PM

I think it's set at 7800, doesn't rev that high- but flashes about 500 rpm before shift.. And yes it's quick: definitely can hi 12's in qtr... Just haven't been back to track

I have an 09 as well, and what?? we don't have shift lights?? i've never noticed bc i've actually never "tried" my car.

seems like nissan went a few steps backwards with the 09 Z vs the 350Z. my 07 Z had the shift light for sure, along with the very useful rear windshield wiper, truck hatch release button on key fob, a functional rear quarter panel window, and my personal favorite, the digital speedo.

the 370 is miles beyond and better than the 350. rear windshield doesn't need a wiper nor does it need a shift light lol I think the 350 is a step below the 370 in every way.

I think the shift light was added to the auto in 2012? but the manual had it from the start I think?

you're right, the 370Z doesn't need a rear wiper nor a shift light. heck, i bought the touring/sports package/navi model and it doesn't need leather seats, navi system. but it's just nice to have lol and adds a nice touch to it.

i thought the rear wiper on the 350Z was very useful, as it rains alot during the summer in florida.

i just wish that nissan carried over certain features of the 350Z to the 370Z.

honestly anymore I think we get more rain in PA than florida and I have never really ever felt the need for a rear wiper even in the worst downpours.

the leather seats in the touring model are great. I wouldn't have a Z without those or the new nismo seats. previous nismo seats and base are garbage.

I do wish the 370 had a digital speedo, the rear wiper isnt really missed, and the shift light is a great addition the 7AT.

++UPDATE: the shifting has improved, wont know if it fixed my issue until it stops rapture raining over here

that's weird if it was a fluid change that fixes it. that fluid is rated to be about 100k miles lol

The thing is Ive read a few guys having less than the correct fill amount from the factory! And People have changed it out way earlier and thier fluid bieng dark, almost black. Tranny fluid is mainly always supposed to be golden brown, like new. Mine was quiet a few shades darker than new, had a medium brown look to it.
