  • This is only here to inform the community which adapter is required for an aftermarket Oil pressure gauge.

The engine is BSPT, threaded. NOT BSP.
See that "T" makes a big difference.

Refer to the diagram below ==>

I know I'm quoting an old thread, but I finally got the adapter that's drawn here, so BSPT thread in and out, and another 1/8" NPT inlet for my pressure sensor. One maybe stupid question - on my pressure sensor the thread is indicated as 1/8" 27-NPT. This "27" is saying the number of threads per inch from what I can tell and if I'm not mistaken, there is no other option, so this *should* fit the thread in the adapter. Anyone know more? When I try threading it with hands, it goes some 3 threads in no problem.
And that's my second question. Any torque spec to this? I don't think I can thread it *all* the way in. In fact, it looks like if I tighten it to about 7-10Nm, I will probably hit the lower limit of the thread hole, so that I don't obstruct the oil pressure flow inside the adapter. I think that actually answers itself.

Thank you!

EDIT - Managed to google out the answer. Apparently the torque spec is with teflon added - from finger tight, another full turn or two. Careful not to overtighten.
