Z1 thermostatic sandwich plate compatibility

Hey everyone, im currently running the AE performance oil cooler kit and was looking into purchasing a thermostatic sandwich plate.

I'm interested in the z1 kit:

https://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_37...oducts_id=4652

And the oil cooler kit that I'm running:

http://www.the370z.com/drivetrain-en...ool-track.html

Now I know it's being advertised for the nismo kit, but I was wondering if anyone on here is running the same setup and whether or not I need anything else to successfully install it.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated, I'm also open to other options but couldnt find much besides the mishimoto plate which seems to be iffy

The mishitmoto one is garbage and is likely to fail and leave 5 quarts of oil on the roadway. For their part, mishitmoto will send you a new rubber o-ring :eekdance:

I'm sure the Z1 will work fine. If you have any questions, call AE Performance or Z1 and ask them directly :twocents:

I called z1 and they said itll work but the fitting are not the same, I purchased the car with the cooler already installed and don't know what the specs are for the fittings. As for AE I'm pretty sure they're not around anymore, unfortunately.

Do you know what size fittings are on your AE kit? You might not find a thermostatic plate with those sizes. I thought the AE kit came with a thermostatic plate, but I guess it was just an optional piece like on most oil cooler kits.

You could always buy a Mocal thermostatic plate and just switch the AN fittings to match.

Find a buddy with a set of AN fittings to test size. I can almost guarantee they are either -8 or -10AN.

No idea that's why I turned to the370z to see if anyone here knows, and I'm not sure if it was ever an option. Ae claimed that it wasn't necessary in the original product description (I'm almost positive atleast), supposedly the way it was designed allowed the oil to reach proper oil temps. But since the mornings are still chilly at times where I am, temps have a hard time reaching 180 degrees

I re read the link I posted of the kit and it does in fact use AN fittings, now I need to find someone that has some on hand. I don't believe I know anyone that would have some on hand, and can't really have much down time because the car is actually my daily driver.

I'm going to try to get ahold of AE and see what they have to say

Just sent AE a message, hopefully they'll get back to me!

Thanks for the all the input so far guys
