WTF is this scraper you speak of? Can you point it out in the picture?

Check the photos in post #126 in this thread. Notice the slots in the shield under the crank. One edge of the slots is bent up toward the crank. These edges are meant to strip oil spinning with the crank and pull it down to the pan area.
