Just got an email from John at ati and said the damper should be out in about a month. So let's get on this band wagon and see how far it will fly.

Would be interested. But sell me /tell me why this is a better long term solution than a dry sump.

It's not. But not everyone is going to pony up the money required for a dry sump setup

I have previously PM'd phunk my interest.

That said, I have a bead on an alternative:
1. External oil pump which I will use in conjunction with the CJM baffled sump and
2. A locally engineered dry-sump here in OZ - no firm price yet but some interesting murmurings (the manufacturer supplies dry-sump kits to the Aussie off-road and desert buggy-racers - about 25% of whom use VQ TT engines in their buggies with the dry-sump system).

Roughly around 9 grand for a set up, not including installation cost, this is a good solution to increase revs and oil pump reliability.

The thing with a dry sump system is that most people will never actually take the plunge and get one. Its performance and durability is second to none... but they are very expensive and they dont just bolt up to the car - its a lot of custom work and comes with sacrifices of real estate.

So, this is not a better long term solution than a dry sump, but is a better long term solution than the dry sump that was never purchased and installed.

I'm very interested in this but the issue is I don't want to be a guinea pig on something that could very easily cause the motor to go boom. To be honest, I was hoping a handful of people would jump on this and establish how fast the motor could really be spun safely and then I'd jump on round 2 of this.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but I was really hoping for 8250-8500 RPM with this and Phunk's oil pan.

Well prepared to blow your motor. To rev 8500 if I'm correct your going to need an upgraded valve train, new intake system, pistons, rods, new crank? And a manifold O and a damper to balance the harmonics. Don't go out the boundaries of a stock block and you will be happy.

Sorry to hijack... have you guys seen these videos? Goodness gracious. 8,500 RPM. What's nice is that I can put it on repeat and not worry about shredding my engine.
