Delay in Downshifting with Paddles
Every once in awhile when I use the paddles to downshift from 3rd to 2nd(the only shift I have noticed so far)there is a 2 to 3 second delay before it rev matches and down shifts.Anybody have this issue also? Not tried or noticed this issue with the stick shift YET.Happens to me once or twice a week.Minor but still a bit of concern.

Can't say that I've ever noticed any hesitation or delay when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, much less any other combination of gears. If you are truly experiencing a 2-3 second delay, something is wrong. Maybe it only seems as if it is 2-3 seconds?

You know, that might be the issue. Will make note if that is the cause but I do not remember if I was shifting at a higher speed then normal unless I accidently hit it twice when shifting Down from fourth.

The ECU has to read a ton of sensors. Sometimes those sensors lag. I wouldn't worry too much man

I don't think on my car if I try to down shift to early it will still change once the speed gets low enough to down shift, it just ignores the shift and you have to hit it again when the speed is down.

Would it refuse it? I have never had a lad shifting down with the paddles ( I use them 100 % of the time) The only thing I can think of is if you where at 6k RPM and tired to down shift while accelerating :/.. I just shifted down this weekend HW fun , @80 MPH to 3rd just to pop of the limited before I hit 4th. BTW I am tuned tho not sure that matters |
No high RPM downshifting.Happens at less then 4000 rpm.But since then my "SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT" came on during a day trip into the mountains here.Took it in to dealer to have checked out expecting an emissions sensor issue, but turned to be a error reading a tranny sensor. They reprogrammed the TCM for a Code P0710.Seems ok now but have not driven much in the last couple days.

If you would have tried to drop to 2nd it would have refused it. It done it to me in sebring turn 7 a few times, your going from 120+ into a hairpin downshifting twice and I have hit the paddle a few time to go into 3rd a half of a second to soon and it acts like you didn't hit it.
