SZ Clutch

I've heard good things about specialty Z. I need a new clutch soon. This one has a different CSC than the zspeed one.

.SZ Clutch & Flywheel Kits for Z33 (07-08), Z34 & V36 - Clutch & Flywheel - 370Z/G37

Anyone have experience with this clutch?

Hotrodz 03-24-2015 12:02 AM

Yup, there are a number of them out there, I have the Street Max and I have had no problems or issues. Call Seb and order one!!!

DOOMMONKEY777 03-24-2015 12:45 PM

One of the best track clutches.

Chuck33079 03-24-2015 01:05 PM

Call ZSpeed or Z1. Specialty Z has some of the worst customer service out there. Using their clutch cost me another $1500 between the rental car, additional labor, etc. They just rebadge a RPS clutch anyway. They will leave you hanging if you have the slightest issue and blame everyone but themselves. My using them was a huge mistake. Learn from my mistake.

I love mine! :driving:

They'll take care of you if you're local, but if they don't have to worry about you showing up in person to collect the money they promised you and never paid, they won't give a damn about you. **** those guys personally and professionally.

From Greg,

Hi Charles,

I am very sorry you feel we did not provide you with good service.

I felt we tried to help you in any way we could.

We had custom parts made and shipped them next day air to you at our expense to try to help you with what seemed like an odd problem.

I offered to pay labor for a typical clutch job if the part ended up being defective.

When the clutch was pulled, it was clear the disc had been bent and was destroyed trying to make it work being bent.

With over 30 years experience in this business, and knowing how our parts are tested, it was clear this disc was bent after leaving us. With knowing your turbo kit was a pain to work with, it was easy to understand how the installer could bend the disc.

When the disc was found to be bent and was clearly an installer error, it is not reasonable to ask us to pay for labor for something that clearly was not our fault.

We sent you a replacement disc, and even upgraded you to the more expensive disc on top of deep discounting the clutch to you in the first place.

I am sorry you see it differently and I am beyond shocked your trying to hurt our business on line.

Greg,

I emailed you a full response to this partial truth. I'll be more than happy to paste the entire email chain here if you would like. Otherwise, don't bother responding to me here. I have every right to share my impression of my transaction on an open forum, and I will do so. The part was defective, and you placed blame on the installer to avoid having to pay out of pocket. That's not how a reputable company does business.

I think it's time to give it a rest, everyone who frequents the forum knows how you feel and even at the end of it all, you are one of couple of people who have had a problem with SZ clutches or service. SZ is a outstanding business that has provide for many satisfied customers through out the Nation and Canada. They a great supporter of Z community by creating and improving products and services for which I am grateful for. So let's agree to disagree and move on!!!

You can move on if you want. I'll give my opinion when people ask about them just like you do. My opinion is no less valid. They've taken care of a lot of people, myself not among them. And when people come out and say how great they are, I'll be the first to respond with the other side of the coin.

Wow, not hating on you my friend, I'm just wanting folks to have a positive experience here and yes opposing view points are part of the game, but it does not have to be done in anger...ok if that is the way you want to roll. And just for the record, I did not say that you should not have an opinion or to shut up if you don't like what I posted.

The Specialty Z Clutch and flywheel combo is amongst the best in the industry in my opinion. I had this in my personal Z car and put many miles and track abuse on it without a single issue. I highly recommend their kit, being that I sell Exedy, ACT, Southbend, Clutch Masters, Competition Clutch, Spec, ORC, OS Giken, Blitz, HKS, and Specialty Z Clutches; my Vote will go to Specialty Z and OS Giken every time. it's really hard to beat a clutch that holds power reliably and drives as good as SZ or OSG. sure other brands will "work" but nothing that I've personally driven has worked as well as the OSG and SZ parts.

with that said, I vote you buy the SZ Kit. I sell it too in case you need to combine it with some Motul Torco or Endless Fluids. if I've sparked your interested in an OS Giken clutch please feel free to let me know I'll also be able to give you a killer deal on one of those. or if you want we can also give you a deal on the clutch installed here in house.
