I think my motor seized.

Goodness does NJersey have the lemon law?

wow... probably something came apart from the timing chain mechanisms and grenade the engine like the e46 M3.

do we have rod bearing issues on our motors?

Sounds like no oil in sump, big-end bearing seizes and Rod snaps and ventilates the block ... which turns the engine into a useless boar-anchor !!

Key question to establish is how did the oil leak out.

Was there any oil pressure warning light before it stopped ??

Eeeshhh... yeah. Bearing must have seized and you threw a rod -- it rocketed out, blowing a hole in the block, essentially grenading the motor.

Glad they are replacing under warranty

I still don't see how "the motor just shutdown" and you didn't hear a wicked loud noise. Ive grenaded this motor and it was pretty damn obvious there was a serious mechanical issue when it happened. I doubt this happened at low rpms's so it should have been pretty violent.

But hey, maybe you were jammin' out to "anther one bites the dust" or something.

My car has been there since Saturday evening. I went there they had it on the lift hence the photo so I believe the motor is there.
