This obsession with changing the master cylinder seems a little odd. As far as I can tell only 2 have failed. All the other replacements were just because the CSC failed.

A whole lot more than 2 have failed.

There are plenty of reports of CMC failure on this forum. My CMC failed first. I went ahead and replaced the CSC with the Z1 kit and a new OEM CMC at the same time. This was at 51K miles.

When you replace the slave you have to replace the master with it, or it will fail. Update on my situation from the original post, the dealership replaced the master but said it wasn't holding pressure like it was supposed to, so they are going to replace the slave again and see if that fixes it. I can only assume they didn't replace the master when they replaced the slave the first time and it failed and took the slave with it. That is not based on any fact or mechanical knowledge just the conclusion I came to based on the evidence.

Either way, Im going to let Nissan make the car drivable again so that I can save up the funds and just replace it all with aftermarket parts. No screwing around, Zspeed hd csc, napa master, and I might even do the RJM clutch assembly for good measure. I want to spend my money on making the car faster, not replacing faulty oem parts.
