Another blown motor
Just found this blown motor. Owner states it was used, fine since he got it, oil changed right away, uprev tune only. This isn't the first blown sludge motor. Thought sludge was a thing of the past?! This thing looks horrible.

I remember seeing this on FB yesterday I think? The owner stated that "It just let go". I wonder what was the maintenance routine for that car?

Looks like old Quaker State dino old that had oil changes of 20,000 miles. :rofl2:

Could have been an oil consumption issue that wasn't found during ownership? I am on my third motor from that, this one though has had zero consumption for 40k miles. Was going through 2q every 1.5k miles. I had no oil on the stick when I first caught it and it was at 3k miles from the first oil change I did, no oil light ever came on....

Lack of oil changes period.

Was the oil ever changed at all?
|
The motor/oil was probably exposed to outside harsh elements and rotted for a long time before you found it.
