Oil cooler & trans cooler

Just bought a Trans cooler from Stillen, thinking about getting a Oil Cooler but I dont really need it because I don't really push the car that much.
It gets hot during the summer so I'm debating if I want to get one or not.

Does anyone on here have both of them on or have pics?

Thanks in Advance! :tiphat:

I don't understand why you bought a trans cooler if you don't really push the oil that much. If you were going to do any type of cooling, the first mod you should of done oil cooler especially if where you live get hot in the summer. If you don't push the car that much like you said whats the point of adding aftermarket parts, oem will just do fine.

Got the transmission cooler to make sure the fluids and everything don't overheat, I have a 7AT

I agree with Elmo370z, the first thing to overheat will be the oil. If you don't push it hard enough to get the oil hot then the 7AT would have been fine without a cooler.

:iagree:

oil cooler is a must pretty much.

I push my AT pretty hard with drag racing, back roads, the dragon, DD'ing in traffic in M mode, etc...

my car is never in auto mode and I've never had an issue. I did nearly hit limp mode based on oil temps of 250 before my oil cooler though lol

So your saying i'll be fine with just the trans cooler righ?

Even when I do sort of push the car the higest its been is around 210

if you push the car you need a engine oil cooler if you're seeing high temps.

trans cooler isn't needed unless you're boosted.

Look man not to sound like a Grinch, I've read several of your post and given you advice on what to do and not to do is like trying to feed steak to a cow. You don't push your car if your oil temps are 210 at the highest, try do 140-155 for about 5 mins and see how high and quickly your oil temps rise even on a cold night.

Hey Joker J you kind of did it backwards but stay positive and just move forward. If anything just get the oil cooler now to. The front of our cars have pliant of room for both coolers. Myotorsports has both and he has a 7at as well and its pretty badAss!

Thanks man. I think i worded the post incorrectly haha
I pm a few members and until I push the car to 140, Trans cooler should be fine haha If it comes to the point where I need to get a oil cooler, then i'll just get one then :)

Yea, being new to all the modding stuff is a headache haha

The oil gets hot before the trans fluid even if you don't push the car hard. wtf:icon14:

What I'm saying is, since I have an A/T and not a manual I'm getting the trans cooler first because I don't push the car as much as other forum members here. Just getting it as a back-up, and once I install all my other parts and see that I need an oil cooler, then i'll purchase one.

I don't understand why you aren't understanding what everyone is saying to you.

The Trans cooler is not needed on your car unless it is boosted or on a racetrack. Period

The engine oil cooler is needed much sooner than the transmission cooler. Do that one first regardless of how you drive it.

This. Skip the trans cooler and go with the oil cooler.
