Does the thinner or thicker side of the Whiteline rear diff. bushing go on top (closer to car)? There is a thicker piece and a thinner piece which sandwich together

Rear Diff bushing, which on top?
Does the thinner or thicker side of the Whiteline rear diff. bushing go on top (closer to car)?

i originally fitted them as per the instructions, thick on top and thin on bottom.
The result is a lot of diff whine under light acceleration and a clunk every time i let off the pedal. I swapped them around, top hats in place as per OEM config and there is a significant reduction in noise and vibration. Mine is a 6MT too. i think the 7AT can get away with the Whiteline default of thin top and thick bottom because the pinion is already angled slightly up compared to the pinion flange on the 6MT diff |
