NISMO 370z DYNO SPECS

maybe Nissan tuned the Nismo Different.. none have fully cracked the stock ECU yet. If his numbers are true (I Hope so) that's good news for us (none Nismo)

Well.. I will not flame the OP, but all that HP sure did not show in MT's recent Best Driver's Car test where the Nismo was one of the slower cars around Laguna Seca....

It would be great if the numbers were accurate, but I think the shop that did the dyno tune is playing some sort of game. Here's to hoping I am wrong.....

Please do post the dyno chart OP!

Yea...it's unfortunate I'm part of a minority who actually has balls to tell it like it is.

There must be some sort of error. Perhaps the "330 WHP" is extrapolated to BHP from WHP as I've seen done in the past many times. I don't think anyone is foolish enough to believe that the car actually made 330 WHP bone-stock on a Mustang Dyno. HAH, even if the NISMO actually does make that kind of power...it's the slowest 330 WHP, 3300 lb. car in the world.

Regardless of how false this information is...dyno figures outright mean close to nothing. The only purpose of a dyno is to tune and/or draw a comparison to a base-line. In this case, it means absolutely nothing what the raw figure is so long as the scale is consistent to all your other runs you will measure.

The NISMO has 350 at the flywheel. 330 at the wheel would be a less than 7 percent loss though the drive train. I've never seen a drop that small. You should get close to 300 whp at best depending on dyno.

That shop is filled with awesome guys who know there stuff in and out... They go to all ends to make you happy and do great work..

I from first hand experience know for a fact that their dyno is a very favorable dyno...

I put down 279whp/254tq in my 03 vq35de with cai, plenum, test pipes, exhaust, uprev...

on a dyno jet i put down 255whp ( adam from performance tweaked my tune for that dyno session, but no way he pulled 24 additional horsepower )

Its just a favorable dyno as far as your numbers... you can not take that number and consider your car any faster than the next guys on this board or on the road...

if you look on z and g boards this dyno consistantly puts out great numbers..

again not flaming them at all, if i need work, i go to them, if someone else i know needs work, i send them to performance...

its just how the dyno is

BUT

i know they had a dyno day today, and there were other cars there, so how did you car do compared to non nismo 370s and the HRs

HRS with test pipes put down right around or just over 300 on their dyno, with full bolt ons 310-315 and thats much higher than other dyno results you will find ...

its just about a baseline, start modding, and watch your gains... that is all

I LOL'ed at this one, well actually, LMFAO'ed. A mustang dyno, muahaha. You'd be lucky to make 265whp on one of them with a NISMO, and funny thing is, NISMO's on dynojets are putting down damn near the same numbers as the base 370's. I call bullshyt, I dont care if the shop is reputable or not, im willing to bet a nice cut and paste job of a dyno sheet will be posted soon hereafter. Like some people have already posted, people with full bolt on's, over 2.5k in mods arent making that kind of power, especially on a mustang.

Hey...... Believe every bit someone made 330 rwhp on a bone stock car. Happens every day including people who don't even actually own one.

Dyno data useful? Yes and no. Agree there are so many variables and you see dyno sheets that for whatever reasons, vary as much as 50 hp from one dyno to another on equal modded cars. To get accurate comparisons it needs to be same dyno under the same conditions. You can easily get a 10-12 hp difference between dyno runs on a hot car vs cooler car especially if the hood is closed as it will heat soak the intake and MAF's.

Another thing is with a bolt on...you bolt it on. Whatever you get is what you get as you can't affect what the outcome is. However, on the tuning aspect a dyno is invaluable. Know it doesn't sound like much but Friday the Cobb tuning software finally seems to work and picked up 3-4 hp just from fuel/air tuning. Reviewing the logs and next time will work on MAF and timing settings. Think there might be another 4-5 hp in the car especially in the midrange where it appears to be pulling some timing out.

BTW....it did make 330 rwhp (Std). Not bone stock however.

Sorry it upsets me when someone who owns the "racing" version of a car throws out a ridiculous number without a nice, long explanation about how they make no sense.

Also Denny, that is GREAT news.

Go to 7:45 of this video, watch it, and then repost your thoughts as to MT's impression of this vehicle. Something ain't right.

Sadly this also speaks volumes about the shop...
completely. He must use my guys......

WOW.... Didn't expect people flaming... It's not like I wanted to offend someone. Don't ask me why my car pulled 330 WHP guys... I don't know! I didn't do **** to the car. I had it for 4 weeks, and been just driving it, taking it to the drag track bone stock.

Ok here are some answers to some questions mentioned here:

1. Yes, it was a Dyno Day.
2. We had 2, Nismo 370z
3. Can't recall, but we had about 6 or 7, 370z touring with bolt ons...

When i arrived to the shop, 1 370z had already pulled 308 WHP, don't remember what bolt ons he had. Next was my buddies Nismo. His car is a stock as mine, nothing done to it. He pulled 310 WHP.

More and more 370z with bolt ons, kept getting on the Dynos, all broke 300WHP mark... the highest 370(NON NISMO) i saw that day made 328 WHP i believe.

Then my buddy in his Nismo installed the Test pipes. Then they put him back up on the Dyno.... he ran 332 WHP and 252 Torque if i recall correctly. That an extreme 22 HP gain from just the test pipes.

After few cars, they put mine on the dyno. First pull, on 4th gear, it made 326 WHP if recall it correctly. After of idling a little bit, they made a second pull putting the car up to 330 WHP and 250 Torque.

Everyone was amazed... and couldn't explain why my car was making that number. The only reasonable idea mentioned by performance guys, was that it may have something to do with the fact of how aggressively you drive your car. If you push you car to the limits on daily basis... car may learn your driving or some **** like that.... well... I thought it may be the case, cause i don't baby my car... i already took it to the Drag Track too... so i push my car most days im on the road... If this is not a reason.... I don't know what.

I will post the graph on monday, I got a scanner at work. You don't have to believe me. But guys from this forum were on that Dyno day with me, they saw what happened.

Don't hate the player... hate the game!
