BGTV8 Finally needed new battery
After 68 months of ownership and 122000 kms of daily driving, my battery died today. Went to the car park under my work and the engine cranked a little and refused to engage the starter thereafter.
Had to call Auto Club battery assist guys and cough-up $200, but the OEM battery was cactus .... it had a dead cell. Not a bad run. My ute (tow vehicle) still has the OEM battery after 8 years, but it only gets used as weekends and spends its time in between on a trickle charger and so has not been cycled as many times as the Z. Probably helps that we have mild winters (by comparison) as well. Any other long-lived batteries in mild climates ? |
Just changed my battery on my 09 370 last week. 78000 kms on the clock and bought the replacement battery for $145 at Kmart. Not a bad run :)

In my offroad PowerWagon. I run either an Odyssey or an Optima. These are the new style batteries. If you want a wet cell, Trojan. Which I have 6 of them in my motorhome.

the autoclub batteries arent all that bad. the NRMA ones sold here are made in Korea and the one our family has in the Tarago has been going for over 6 years. you had a good run with your OEM battery :)

I got 11 years out of my '03 Ford Sport Trac's battery up here in the Great White North. Amazing!
