NST shortshifter

Usually I go in rage mode when I buy something and it doesn't fit or performs like ****. Hell, half the times I try to get the car in reverse

Question Install or Not ?

I have the NST SSK on my car and intend to leave it there. As planned, ill pull it all apart at around 5k miles and see how the wear on it compared to the wear i saw on the SSK i previously had installed.
So you have the NST short shifter installed on your car? What are your personal thoughts about how it shifts? Pros, cons... I'm just trying to get opinions before I go ahead and install mine. I hadn't seen these s*** reviews on this shifter until members from the GB had installed it. As of right now, from what I've heard... I think I'd be a complete idiot to install it?

Disregard Mozen... I found your SSK comparison. Why is it that everyone else isn't happy with the product ?

Just received an email saying mine got shipped. If I get it this weekend I'll try to have it in and see what all the fuss is about. Will report back when I can.

Im not sure, im not saying its the absolute best out there but for 55 bucks?...yea its good for me. The AMS i had cost nearly 170 and had a lot of wear for low miles driven plus was stiff due to the black shavings it had produced.

Im not sure why Mike did not renew his forum sub however i still dont feel he is being shady at all. Most of us that have purchased stuff from NST in the past have had to learn some patience. Could he stand to work on his business manufacturing and shipping model?....probably most of us would say yes. Does he make quality parts? I think so..the Pulleys i got are great quality and the SSK for the price is good as well.

Correction, NST's SSK is posted at a price of $86.00 on their website. And that does not include a shift knob. Add a shift knob to the kit, priced at ~$20.00 and you are already at $106.00. Don't forget to add tax and shipping as well. I am not complaining about the Group Buy price, and I quite honestly don't think anyone is, but... from looking past the Group Buy deal, I saw a SSK valued at $120.00 and thought I'd be receiving a quality product. And I say "I" but I think everyone in the Group Buy who has attempted to install the SSK can agree that the quality of the product is not what it should be. Perhaps NST should make the Group Buy price the actual price of their SSK. That way at least people have an idea as to what the quality of the product really is. That is just my opinion.

Thats fair enough, however we paid the GB price and then add in shipping. Still..past the cost of materials what is NST making? Certainly not what B&M is for a very similar looking SSK. Additionally i think the shift knob is not an issue(except for the guy who got the wrong one?) or am i wrong?

I would like to see the red shift knob i have with a slightly raised lip around the edge tho so the sticker sat down into it a little bit but thats just me.

I just chqnged it back to stock and..... 100 % better shifts go right in nothing notchy etc... while I had the stocker out I cleaned and regreased everything. The stock lube almost feels like some kind of silicone. I see alot of posts that people are pissed. For $50 bucks I was hoping it would work better but, the fact is it did work just not that good imo. I will just caulk it up to something that didn't work for me.

So Chuck PM you addy and I will get this in the mail with the Mishimoto radiator and thermostat

Wrap the shifter in a rag before you put the strap wrench on.

I also popped the boot and shifter trim up, wrapped the shaft of the shifter with electrical tape and held it with a pair of vise grips while I turned the strap wrench. There was so much blue loctite on the threads I'm shocked I didn't have to cut the knob off.
