The alternate method you can use to lower the initial bite point is to increase the AFP setting. Loosen the two bolts on the AFP slider with a 3/16 Allan wrench and slide the plate up half a tooth so its between the 75% mark and 100% mark. That'll increase the AFP affect and also make the engagement range drop lower. Retighten both bolts firmly and then you'll need to do a reset of the upper switch gap as increasing the AFP will alter where the pedal arm stops causing the switch gap to tighten.

Also another trick you can do to squeeze a little more from the clutch rod is to loosen the lock nut and turn it all the way back as far as it'll go on the rod. Then use some pliers that can grip the raised pattern on the rod to thread the rod tight into the clevis. Finish by using your 12mm wrench to make sure the lock nut is tight. That'll get every bit you can out of your clutch rod adjustment.

Hopefully that helps and if not I've got another trick up my sleeve but it'll be a little more involved then the options I've given you already.

Thanks Ryan! I set it just a hair past 75% and seems like it's way better now. I also realized that I over tightened the two side tension nuts way too much last time, the clutch pedal is much lighter now.

That's excellent! I'm happy to hear that did the trick for you and that you corrected the tension on the side nuts. They don't need to be very tight at all to lock up the center section from moving up/down as there is a huge amount of surface area being clamped together much like a multi-plate clutch.

Cool thanks a lot!! Got it installed today and my first experience was backing it out of the shop for a test drive, noticed the difference instantly. Gonna be leaving it set at 75%. It feels really great, put over a 100 miles on it already but still trying to get used to that different feeling of it grabbing so low lol. Was wondering though if my pedal height looks ok, I thought I remember reading that the clutch pedal should be higher or same height as the brake. But it is a bit lower right now I think. Maybe what I read applied to the stock pedal? Just want to make sure I won't have any problems. Here's a pic.
Kinda hard to tell I guess depending on the angle, it just feels lower.

Swindler, That's excellent! I'm happy to hear you had a good install and are liking the new pedal feel. The pedal pad height stock is about 1/2" higher then the brake and I recommend setting up the pedal to be anywhere from level with the brake up to that same 1/2" as a reference only. The actual point of setup doesn't matter as it can be adjusted anywhere you want via the 3 bolts that attach the upper and lower pedal arm sections without affecting anything else. If you want to bring the height up a bit you can simply loosen the 3 nuts with a 7/16 wrench or ratchet and rotate the pad height up and then tighten them back up.

Down to Just 3 Units Left Available Tonight from the latest batch. I just picked up parts this afternoon to begin fabrication of the next 25 units tomorrow and will be shipping out Tuesday once the Post Office reopens from the Easter Weekend Holidays.

I just installed my RJM today and had a pretty firm feel to mine, I knew something was off. This post made me realize what it was, and now my clutch is PERFECT! I had also over tightened the two side tension nuts.
STEP 30, PAY ATTENTION TO IT! Thanks Brancky for the post, and RJM for perfecting the Z clutch. Extremely satisfied customer here.

Next Batch of units will be coming in Mid-Next Week. Currently Just 12 Units Remain Available for order from this next batch to begin shipping Thursday April 7th. Grab one quick before they sell out again They were also updated to Rev 3.1 as I modified things a bit to give more clearance around the LH master cylinder stud to make install easier as some found it a tight fit getting the nut on before.

I haven't seen any install vids of this, but the walkthrough from RJM was very thorough, and has pictures where needed to provide more information.

Sorry, I've tried a few times to get video of the install but it's just too tight to do the work and manipulate a camera under the dash to show anything useful under there. The fully illustrated install guide with detailed photos/explanations for each step is quite good and is written with a novice DIY installer in mind rather then a minimalist shop manual type document.
