Question on Shock/Spring Install
For all you DIYers. I'm planning on installing Koni shocks front and rear. The FSM indicates that the final install step for the rear shocks is to torque down the bolt holding the lower end of the shock with the car unladen and with the wheels on level ground. The same thing applies to the front shocks. Now since you can't crawl under the car with the wheels on the ground because of the limited clearance, how are you supposed to follow this instruction short of having a runway lift to place the car onto? For those of you who have done a shock install, did you just ignore this step and simply tighten everything up with the wheels off and the car on jackstands? I'm not sure of the reason for the specific instruction ... but it's highlighted in the manual. Help!

don't see that anyone else answered, and realize you may have finished the install long ago, but in case anyone else has this question. what i did was raise the knuckle with a jack until the weight of the car was just off the jack stand, loading the suspension. i figure it was the same as the wheel being on the ground. i installed the kit that includes the H&R springs with the Koni's. love it. good luck.

Thanks for the response. My solution was to re-install the wheels/tires and lower the car onto 12" Race Ramp wheel cribs that I had … which provided plenty of clearance and met the requirements specified in the FSM.
