anyone remove the rear hatch/trunk?

Tried looking for a DIY and googled the topic but came up with nothing. Has anyone removed their rear hatch/trunk? I'm assuming it can't be too hard, but I haven't

Default anyone remove the rear hatch/trunk?

Tried looking for a DIY and googled the topic but came up with nothing. Has anyone removed their rear hatch/trunk? I'm assuming it can't be too hard, but I haven't attempted it yet so don't know for sure. I'm planning on trading my hatch with an OEM wing with another guy with a slick (no spoiler) hatch...this is possible right?

yes its pretty easy to remove the hatch there are a few bolts just before the headliner, and all you really need to do is pop the black plastic pieces out, behind the seats and in the trunk cargo area, as there are some wires you need to disconnect.

The FSM will have R&R procedures.

I think they are the same size hatch but 100% sure; FSM will probably have the answer.

You da man...I was looking at it and the only part that tripped me up was the connections/wire looms near the pivot points/liner

can someone explain better which plastics have to be removed? is it more than just the cargo plastics? Trying to get a better idea on how to disconnect the wiring.

Bumping this from death.

Has anyone removed the hatch ? Could you provide some more guidance here. Or could you let me know where in the FSM this is ? I cannot find it .... Must be blind
