You don't have to, but it's something that's done as a precaution.
When i took my front fascia off (Aussie model, has pedestrian impact sensors like the European spec models) i left the battery connected. I even disconnected these sensors and no errors were registered. If i remember right, the radio was on for the whole time. If you're worried about losing your radio settings, gauge settings etc - write it all down before you disconnect the battery. I removed my entire stock headunit and HVAC control boxes for two weeks. Amazingly, the clock and radio didn't need any resetting when i reinstalled it all. YMMV.. |

The ECU will be reset as a result of extended loss of battery power, however it's easier and quicker to just do a pedal dance reset if all you require is an ECU reset.

yes. the enlargement is done to the ducts that sits between the airbox and the front of the radiator area.
it'll enrage the new owner if u dont tell them though ![]() |

Just wanna say thanks to Snakes709 for this DIY and all you others that added your advise in this thread. Just did the install today, and with all the info I got here it was super easy, even though the original pics don't exist anymore. Thanks y'all!
