The last time Ms. Pint came over, I noticed that her hood prop clip was broken. She was the one who sold me my Z1 struts at a good price, so I gave her a replacement clip :tup: I had broken mine a long time ago and ordered a new one that I never installed.

And yes, I love them. I don't even wrench on the car that much, but "They're Great!" (ala Tony the Tiger)

There is an installation guide packed with the struts. But to answer your question, the new brackets do attach under two nuts. The guide says to take one nut off at a time but you have to loosen both nuts. I took both nuts off (the third nut keeps everything aligned).
Operation is great and alignment is perfect.
FYI, the little spring clips were loose in my box and I was convinced I didn't get them until I found them where I opened the box. They are tiny so watch for them.

thanx bro yeah I was struggling with the fact of trying to keep one nut tight while installing the other. This will be installed this weekend. Appreciate the insight....

guys I'm confused about the first part of the instructions where is states to *The washer on the ball stud can be installed over or under the cover – installer’s choice, but it should be noted that if installed over the cover they cannot be removed without removing the hood strut lower ball stud (for instance for a battery service). Repeat on the opposite side.

can anyone elaborate in full detail sorry but i guess i might just be a lil to cautious thats all?

If you put the washer "over" the cover, it holds the battery or clutch/brake cover (it's actually not the cover itself, but the framework that holds the cover) so that it can't easily be removed. If you put the washer under the cover, then the cover will come off easily. I'd definitely recommend putting it under the cover.

so basically put the washer under the black cover or under the wheel well ? sorry bout this I'm just too cautious like i said

well good news they are on and to be honest i only see a 1mm of a raised bulge, that is beyond nothing anyone else feel this way ?

Trimming the vertical lip on the plastic battery/brake fluid covers to clear the struts will eliminate that.

I did this on the driver side to get a proper gap and no bulge :tup:

is there a diy for this so i can get a rough idea of what to do
