At certain speeds I seem to get a whining noise from the rear of my car on decel. This seemed to appear after my diff oil change. Is this coming from the diff and if so does anyone know why?

Yup....it's the rear differential bearing is GONE. Really starts to whine at >50 mph. Take it into the dealer and get a NEW REVISED rear differential replaced under warranty.

Been there done that about a month ago with the bro's MT. The new revised one comes with COOLING FINS...hawt dawg !!

I have been toooo LAZY to open a thread on this issue...go for it when they replace yours.

I have been running Redline Diff gear oil....smooth

There's a revised differential? Did Nissan release a TSB or is this an 'under the radar' revision?

No TSB to my knowledge, it's still in it's infancy. My car is a 2009 purchased in March 2009, with 42k miles before the diff went south. As the cars age with additional mileage it may become a TSB. Mine was the first the dealer had to replace on a 370Z, and they sell many through their dealership.

I have a pic of the NEW REVISED DIFF and will try to upload soon.

@Zforce, diff still considered a suitable jacking point, even with those fins?

Sorry guys but I am a bit confused here. Is time for me to do the Dif and Tranny fluid change but I read you guys talking about Differential Fuid change at using 75W-90 but when I read the Manual it says you have to use 80W-90 GL-5.

Am I missing something or I misread trough the posts?

Thanks!
