You won't break the plastic. You should be worried more about the glass. Slow and steady is how I did my driver side and it went on without any issues. Passenger side however

FINALLY got them to pop in. I suggest using a screwdriver to push the bottom tabs in the middle in and sorta force the rest. It was a bitch on my side, how yours went in easy I have no clue. Hard with it flipping blinding you the whole time too haha. GRRR
