Just bought an optima red top this week from advanced auto, found an online coupon and it ended up being around $160. Optimas are the best imo

I've had good luck with Auto Zone Duralast batteries in other vehicles, but don't even know if one is available for the Z.
PS...I've also heard that the Optima batteries are not what they used to be. Just my $.02 (never had one so...).

11lbs power sports battery from autozone with a duralast label on it. Deka I think makes them all, even the double priced Braille PS batteries. All weighted PS batteries have the same crank amps, size, weight, etc etc so spending the least amount is best. That's why I don't have a Braille or odessey PS.

I am 100% in belief. Actually quite a few years ago I went to one of the déka distribution centers to pick up an agm battery and when I got there the battery I needed had not yet been labeled. They had labels for each company selling the battery and asked which label I preferred. Also agree 100% on optima. I used to run them in my race car because I was told they were the best, and also since my battery was in a sealed/ outside vented Moroso box in the trunk I felt it was double layer of protection. First one lasted a few years. Then it seemed like at some point they would only last 1 season. I had better longevity from the low grade wal mart especiale. |

Has no one recommended Interstate batteries? Maybe a southern thing but I've grown up around many that swear by them. I've used them myself and that's the only one I'll replace an OEM with.

I've used Interstate in the past and had good luck with them as well. It's been a lot of years since I used one (they didn't make one to fit our vehicles).
I would try on in the Z if one is available.

I've had great luck with interstate as well. I put a Megatron plus battery in the accord 4 years ago to replace the small undersized honda one. I've had no issues whatsoever.
I believe for 370z it's mtp-35 for our cars. |

AutoZone definitely sells a 35 group sized battery and I know we make 9A35/85's for them bu they don't appear online. I would go ask, tell them that is what you want.

I have an Optima yellow top that I just put in my Z. I love it! I didn't feel the need to research a WHOLE lot into battery tech but, there are some note worthy things mentioned in this thread.

If you live in the South, Advance Auto Parts's Autocraft Silver battery is a great buy. You can usually find a $40 or $50 off $100 coupon that puts the price of a Silver battery down to $60 or so.
The Silver does not have the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) of their Gold battery, but that is not a problem for a southern car. Battery makers these days know CCA is what sells, so they pack the batteries with more, albeit thinner, lead plates. Thinner lead plates deform more when hot. This deformation causes the lead paste to shed and this is ultimately what kills a car battery. I run AAP Silvers on all of my cars and get at least 3-4 years out of them. Not bad for $60. If you live in a colder climate and need the CCA, the Kirkland Signature battery from Costco is good but their sizes are limited. |

The Everstart Max lists as 640 Cold Cranking Amps. The OEM one is listed as 700 Cold Cranking Amps. The Optima Redtop is 720 Cold Cranking Amps. Is it really worth the extra money for the Optima? and wouldn't that Walmart one be too little power really? Any thoughts on that?

I am having issues with the Walmart battery and my Remote Start system. Guess it draws too much power. The installer recommended I go with the OEM battery as it had more power.
