just wanted to add where to pull the stock lens. you can turn on the map light, insert the pick tool and gently pull down.

from there, just stick your hand above the lens and pull down the entire lens.
no scratches.

my bulbs are stock. im trying to get away from the flourecent toilet lamp look. why make it illuminate white. defeats the purpose.

enkei2k 05-08-2013 04:44 PM

because it can get blindingly bright when it's super dark? :icon17:

Honestly. I don't like yellowish color. That's why i replaced all my bulbs inside my house to 6.5k bulbs that I bought at lowes. Maybe it depends on what u really want.:)

P.s I only used yellow bulb outside my house to keep away from bugs.:)

for those of you that are using 194 or 168 LED's to replace the factory incandescent bulbs in the maplight housing, have you had any issues with not enough resistance causing some kind of circuit related problem(s), such as burnt delay timing relay and such?

thanks.

kenchan 05-14-2013 09:37 PM

guess not... :ugh:

Sorry for the late response, but I have not noticed any delays or anything.

I'm using these as my LEDs

194 LED Bulb - 15 SMD LED Wedge Base Tower | LED Landscape Lighting | Super Bright LEDs

I can try to take a video for you Mr. Kenchan if you want to see how they are.

I've heard that certain LEDs will stay dimly lit even when 'off', but I've never noticed such a thing.

Thanks! No need for vid. I was just wondering since I hear issues with not enough resistance when using wedges on markers and such. :D yah, I hope I don't have that hanging light issue... I don't want any additional drain while car is off. :)

My led's are supposed to be coming in tomorrow. I hope they work
