Blackout Headlight HELP*
I'm breaking down my passenger side headlight right now and I'm not sure how much more I should remove. I know that you are supposed to try and get rid of the most you can but I read somewhere that there are parts that you shouldn't touch.
What are they?? Below I attached a photo of how my headlight sits now. There are still a few screws and a few wires that I am waiting to do work on but I just don't know what to do with them. Please help..

man I didnt take anything off until it was open, then all i took out was the chrome plastic. Ballasts, bulbs, and wires stayed through the whole process. Just make sure and put a damp towel under the headlight if you are using an oven.

yea. Took the guy out of the car, unplugged it from the back, and popped the whole thing in the oven lickity split. Make sure and follow the DIY though cause you don't want it to get too hot. Also, make sure you have some heat resistant gloves.
I followed this one thanks to Caravanshaka: "It is time to bake, so preheat the oven to 250 degrees, and pull all but the bottom rack out. (you may want to test fit the lights before preheating, mine BARELY fit in my oven). You will set the light on a cookie sheet with a damp wash cloth between the cookie sheet and the headlights to ensure the cookie sheet doesn't melt anything. Bake for 8-12 mins"

Yeah I've read over a few of the DIYs a few times and I got everything that I would need. Except knowing which parts are okay to leave on the headlight but if you were able to do it with all of the pieces on, then I would guess that I would be okay with just leaving a few

yea i was worried too but taking it all off seemed too complex, so i just went balls deep and had no issue.

OH YEA! I did take out the small screws securing the lens BEFORE i stuck it in the oven so i could just pull it apart while it was hot obviously. Didnt have to worry about unscrewing it while it was hot. Do the reverse when you out it back together, so the glue is still warm when you screw the screws back in.

Grind how did your lights turn out? I've got mine off the car and will hopefully have the paint in a week or less and paint mine. You must not of had any more issues or I'm sure you would have posted them here.

That in the picture is the ballast and the igniter. Should be fine in the I've but if It were me I'd take em off. They're gonna haw to come off anyway. Just a few screws on the ballast (black box on the outside) and on the inside of that is the igniter. I believe there is a small screw on the inside of the ballast and when you unplug you can just unlead the igniter out of the headlight. Basically the ballast transfers the power through the igniter and then to the bulb.
