I went ahead an purchased a set of the rhinoramps as everyone seems to love them. I know I'll have to use a 2x4 to set-up onto the ramp, for for $40 you can't beat them.
Time to finish my sway bar install, oil cooler install, and oil change :) |
I have these:
TAKADA LDS Car too low for a hydraulic jack to fit under? Use these low down slopes to help raise up your vehicle. These plastic car ramps are sold in sets of 2 and also work great for those low profile cars that you need just a small amount of lift to get a hydraulic jack under the body or ground effects kits. These plastic ramps are the only solution for cars with expensive ground effects for getting a jack under the vehicle to lift it for an oil change or other undercarriage service. Whether you are working on you car in the garage or if you are a full blown auto service center, you will find these low cost plastic car ramps offer many uses for the automobile enthusiast or service center. Made from recycled Takata race belts http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/7...taldsramps.jpg |
After seeing the photo that anthonyy posted I'm tempted to buy another set of Rhino ramps and use them the same way when I do the transmission and differential oil changes. I think if I drove the front wheels up first and then used a floor jack under the differential I could jack up the car, slide the rear ramps under the tires and lower the floor jack. They are about the same cost as jack stands and the adapters for the pinch welds and seem like there is less chance of underbody damage, plus they would keep the car level during the oil change process. Anyone see a flaw in this method ?

Race ramps are too damned expensive. $475 for the extended 2 piece and the lowering extensions... Eff that. :icon17:

A truck/minivan (if it falls off) will not whack the ramp with the fasica or rocker panel. A Z is another story. |

my cars are on flatstoppers right now from raceramps and they are of high quality.
the thing that ruins it for me on their ramps for lower cars is it's too damn big for storage. i know it breaks up into 2-3 pieces, but too long, too big. Race Ramps Xtenders - RR-XT Lowered Car Ramps. |

I use rhino ramps, two at the front, but i can't get up them without the lip hitting, so i put a 2x4 in front of them and then my lip clears by like 1/8" or maybe just touches it
