towards the last part when you said to turn on the engine and turn the heater on full blast, are you supposed to do that with the radiator cap off and the funnel in?

Looks like that DIY video shows a Lisle Spill Free Funnel.

Yes and should be without problem. The purpose of this is to "burp" the system to purge any trapped air inside. Once this is done and the radiator appears topped off, check again frequently during the week to make sure the level is good. And to make no mistake in the 50/50 solution, just go to Nissan for their pre-diluted blue coolant.

Just replaced my radiator a few months ago. You need to leave the radiator cap off initially. Also make sure the thermostat opens as it will most likely need a little more coolant once it does.

If you need a cheap funnel just cut the top off a 2 L bottle. Fits the fill neck perfect on our cars.

what about the prestone 50/50 you can get at your local pepboys?

or maybe i can just reuse the old coolant i drained out?

I suppose you can go the over-the-counter route, but just to retain warranty, I'd stick with Nissan blue personally. As for reusing old fluid, don't because old fluid contains contaminants which you don't want to keep circulating through your system. Besides, you get a piece of mind if you introduce new fluid in knowing that no further maintenance is needed until quite some later down the road.

so i have a 2013 370z and the way my coolant reservoir is set up is different. i have two radiator caps and i read somewhere that the cap thats on the reservoir is the pressurized one and the one closer to the engine isnt. so which hole do i use to fill it up with coolant and to "burp" the system? does it matter?

It's not different. There's only one pressurized cap which is silver with a warning label on it. The reservoir tank has black plastic cap. Refill via the silver cap but only when the vehicle has cooled significantly.

it is different. you're talking about older model 370's. they changed the set up in the newer ones strating with i think 2011's?? click on the link and check out the pics.

Ah! I stand corrected and see what you mean now. Regardless, you'll need to tale the cap off closest to the engine with due care (use a rag to prevent scathing). You'll want to take the reservoir cap off too to drain the old coolant that's pooled in there. At least on the 2010 model year, only two 10mm bolts hold it in place, and you can tilt the tank to dump the fluid.
