Ok adding to this thread a year later. I pried gently around the top with a razor to start cutting into the glued surface. Then gently kept going around until the lens popped off. I put frog tape around the lens to protect it from scratching it.

I tapped into the license plate light and the bulb is super bright one the fog light and hot, I hooked it up in parallel too. It's not supposed to be that bright is it?

Did mine this weekend and followed JARblue's method and I LOVE it.
Wiring was super easy, I tapped into the license plate light. Only part I didn't like was popping the lens off, I cracked the corner but super glued it.

![]() Yeah, you just have to go slow with the lens. IIRC, I just used a flat head screwdriver to pry it off. It will make some evil noises as you go along, but the key is to not rush it.
