Default Kinetix Front Upper Arm

Not sure if this has been a thread that has been started but I couldn't find one. Anyhow I don't have any pictures to present for this but I promise I will include DETAILED step by step instructions for your ability to install this, also with some shortcuts if you have a smart phone. This is not a 1 PERSON JOB!

1. Park car and apply parking break
2. Break lugs loose (21mm) extension and breaker bar
3. Lift car high enough to get tire off of ground
4. Utilize car stand, I normally put it rear of the tow hook on the weld.
5. Lower car onto stand
6. Remove Lugs
7. Remove Tire
8. I used Large Zip ties to hold spindle agains spring.
9. Loosen and remove the spindle locking bolt and nut.
10. Push factory control arm up and out of way, tilt spindle off to side
::::Note, you need to keep it zip tied so you don't damage any of the brake lines or abs sensors:::::

11. You will need a 14mm wrench (preferably a gear wrench) and can also use the 14mm socket and ratchet on other bolt for removal.
12. You CANNOT get this bolt out of the housing with spring in the way, so you will need to get 10mm socket (use 3/8 drive with swivel head and medium length extension) to loosen and remove strut bolts for control arm bolt removal.
13. Remove strut mouting nuts underneath the strut brace bar.
14. I didn't have a spike/pry bar so I used the biggest breaker bar i had with a cheater pipe. Place between lower control arm and lower control arm housing. Pry down and have other person (or vice versa) pull stur assy out.
15. Remove old upper control arm bolts and upper control arm.
16. Install Kinetix arm with old control arm bolts, ensure fittings facing down and thread in ball joing all the way in. Good time to torque control arm bolts. Also a good time to grease fittings. You can use axle or thick bearing grease.
17. Pry down on bar and reset strut in strut mounting holes.
18. Position spindle so that ball joint pin mates with spindle.
19. Fasten spindle locking bolt and nut.
20. Remount tire and lugs
21. Raise car with jack and remove stand.
22. Repeat on other side.

::::SIDE NOTE. After repeating this take care to get allignment done by professional. I have a -.7 setup for DD use only. I don't have my car lowered also I don't have much toe out, approx .08. This is my 2nd set of tires at 38k and have between low 6mm outside and high 6mm inside. After car is done with allignment this is what is important. Make sure the jam nut is fastened AGAINST the upper control arm. Otherwise you may have a popping sound coming from the front of your car.:::::::

::::Also you can utilize youtube for video using spc's installation video if you want the visuals.:::::

This will save you appox $250 by installing this yourself with some basic tools from your toolbox. Hope this helps us weekend mech a nics
