I'm at about 2" or so, the liner itself drops at high speed for me...

Think you could make a few vent holes and put some mesh over it to keep debris out? Mine is screwed into the lip and also has like 3-4 push clips in it, so it is not going anywhere.

A little trouble w/ Install
I attached a few pictures after the install. The fender liner did not fit up so we drilled out a bit. Also the corners didn't quite match up. Don't really know if it looks like a big deal, but I'm kinda picky so opinions are appreciated! I'll post better pictures once I wash the car!

I cut my fender liners a tad different, I was still able to use the very bottom screw to attach it to the skirt. I am not sure about the CF version but my fiberglass set did not have a spot to remount the hardware for the screw that goes in the corner of the bumper. I just hot glued a piece of wood there and poped a small self tapper into it.
